About this piece
Expanding once more on the themes and narrative of my 1/18 scale Defender RC builds and their reclaimed garage space diorama, I created the alleyway outside of the garage, with the corresponding corrugated steel garage bay door placed center stage to link the two works.
Like "The Garage", this diorama contains numerous references to my life and past, as well as a tribute to the movie Bladerunner in the form of the iconic geometric patterned building tiles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Ennis house, which was featured in the movie.
Furthering the external references, after completing this diorama, I invited fellow artist and friend Evan Lovett to recreate one of his well known Philadelphia murals in acrylic paint on the previously blank concrete alley wall.
