Sharp-Focus Realism In Oil Workshop

If you've ever wanted to try out still life painting from direct observation rather than photo reference, this is the introductory class for you. Over the course of 6 hours, I will explain and demonstrate all of the fundamental skills needed to create a beautiful painting from direct observation.

Having your own easel setup and materials is a requirement, and some prior painting experience with oils is recommended so that the limited class time can be devoted mostly to painting instruction rather than materials and equipment explanations. Please email me if you have any questions about materials, gear, or skill level, as certain accommodations can be made for various student needs.

Although the 1 on 1, private class format is perfect for an artist looking for the maximum amount of instruction tailored specifically to their needs, this class can be modified for small groups of up to 4 students, so if you've got some friends interested as well, the price per student decreases slightly. For example, 2 or 3 students pay $300 each, and if 4 students will be attending, each pays only $200. These group size options and adjusted totals are reflected in your checkout price when purchasing.

After payment is received, you will be emailed the class syllabus and supplies list, and we will arrange a date, time, and location in the greater Austin, Texas area at which to meet for the class--typically your painting or tattoo studio, or mine.
